Aimee Shardlow is a painter based in Falmouth, Cornwall currently studying for a BA Honours degree in Fine Art. Although originally from the suburban life of London, her expressive, composition-led landscapes are inspired by the beauty of the Cornish landscape.

Working with acrylic paints, Aimee’s paintings construct the landscape through texture and layering, creating work that is experimental, decisive, and thoughtful. Her obsession with the landscape and the sea is seen passionately through her vigorous use of mark making. With inspiration acquired directly from her own photographs, the paintings are true and raw to her own experiences. Painting should be messy, fun, and explorative. Aimee’s pieces, although representative, are always just this.
